Lately I began noticing that my packages were disappearing right from the doorstep. I often order different things and ask couriers to leave them at the door because I spend almost the entire day at work.
For years everything was fine, but a couple of weeks ago I noticed that boxes were disappearing one after another. At first I thought it was a courier’s mistake, but soon I realized the disappearance wasn’t an accident. My neighbors also began losing their deliveries.
I reviewed the video intercom recordings and was literally speechless. Almost every day, just after the courier left, a strange woman approached my house.
She would confidently pick up the package, glance around for a second, and quickly walk away. The same movements, the same route. The police, where I brought the recordings, just shrugged and told me to wait. But I didn’t want to wait anymore. Then I realized I had to catch and punish the thief myself. And here is what I did

I decided to catch her myself. The next day I took a day off, found an old box at home, and made a small safe trap inside with paint — the kind that wouldn’t cause harm but would leave bright evidence.
I placed the box by the door, turned on the recording, and hid inside.
The woman appeared as if on schedule. She approached the doorstep, bent down, grabbed the box — and at that very moment the mechanism activated. A small pop, and her clothes, face, and hands were instantly splattered with bright indelible paint.
She froze in shock, not understanding what had happened.
I immediately ran outside and called the police. This time they had not only video evidence, but also the criminal herself — covered in paint, with the “evidence” in her hands. She was detained right on the spot.
That’s how I finally stopped the person who had been robbing our entire neighborhood for weeks.
